BITWaves at Ultima
It’s time for another Ultima day designed especially for kids aged 0-12! This year Ultima will launch you on an ocean of exciting performances, theatre, workshops and other activities with a watery theme that will get children’s musical imagination and creativity flowing.
BIT20 are bringing the app BITWaves to record the sounds of flowing and dripping water in glasses, bowls and more. By using the BITWaves-app you can create your own, completely unique composition.
In addition to the BITWaves workshop there are several other things to experience. From the marble staircase to the Gullbaren, many spaces in Sentralen will be connected by set designer Christina Lindgren’s decorative stream made from recycled plastics reclaimed from the sea.
Performances and activities will include:
The Pond: Concert featuring light projections and music improvised on recycled objects.
Undervannsjenta (The Underwater Girl): Dance, textiles, joik, sea sounds and live drawing based upon the Sea Sami story The Mermaid.
Underwater Stories: Rumbles from the deep! Meet sea creatures like cod, a walrus and a long-finned pilot whale named Roland, and listen to stories from musicians whose job is recording nature noises you rarely get to hear.
Glasspill: Mini-concerts and workshop where you learn how to play music using drinking glasses.
Practical information to get the most out of BUD:
- Don’t try to see and do everything! Lots is happening during the whole afternoon, so focus on the activities your child is really interested in.
- Arrive early! Some activities have limited places and are filled on a first come first served basis.
- Food and drink are available.
- Access is provided for prams and pushchairs, as well as disabled facilities.
In collaboration with Sentralen Mat, Sentralen UNG and Ultima.
